Marian was first introduced to yoga in 1996 and rediscovered her practice after a nagging knee injury kept her away from high impact sports and running. She has seen firsthand the restorative nature of yoga both physically and psychologically and believes anyone can tap into these benefits. She has received her 200-hour yoga alliance Hot Power Fusion/Hot certification and 100-hr power training from Corepower yoga.
When she isn’t teaching, she is expanding her teaching abilities by attending workshops and exploring various styles of yoga. Outside of yoga, you might find Marian walking around Chicago with her dog Thompson, running on the lake, traveling, curling up with a good book.
She hopes to inject a sense of calmness in her teaching and remove the daily stresses of life during practice, all while having a laugh or two along the way. Yoga helps her to improve the lives of others, especially off the mat by promoting a healthier lifestyle, mental clarity, and a more positive outlook.
Mairian uses her background as an art director in advertising and in graphic design to find creative approaches to routines and inject new life into others yoga practice. Her classes focus mainly on alignment, breath, and the benefits of each asana.
